BASE Music is a mobile music school made up of passionate music tutors who provide music lessons in students’ homes all around Sydney.
We also offer lessons at our Crows Nest Studio, a great option for students who prefer a dedicated learning space. Some of our tutors also provide lessons from their home studios or online to students who prefer these alternatives.
We offer great flexibility to our tutors in regards to when they would like to teach.

There is no guaranteed number of students that you will be assigned to as there are a lot of factors to take into consideration such as the areas you are willing to travel, the instruments you teach and your availability. So it is very much up to you! However, our most committed tutors tend to have between 15 and 25 weekly students. We are constantly receiving enquiries from passionate students all over Sydney and demand is only growing! The position is what you make of it.

Whilst most of our students do request the convenience of lessons in their homes, we also provide lessons in tutors’ home studios and online. BASE Music always gives you the flexibility to teach in your preferred format!

Yes! We have students on piano, drums, voice, ukulele and bass; and we are always looking to get some students on other instruments too! Demand for extra classes in music theory, composition and production is growing so we are on the lookout for more tutors who can teach these additional skills.

Whilst it may limit your access to some students a little, it is totally possible to travel to your students’ homes by public transport or even bicycle! During the onboarding process, we will ask you about your preferred mode of transport and take that into consideration when calculating travel times between your lessons.

Certainly! BASE Music is operated by a team of expert jugglers… well, meaning the majority of the team has a few other music-related commitments here and there! Take a quick glance at our tutors’ profiles to see that many of them are performing professionals or university students and manage to fit in weekly students in between other work and gigs with a bit of help.
