Why Choose Online Music Lessons?

Online lessons are ideal for students who travel often or need a more flexible learning setup. Once you find your rhythm, you’ll see just how convenient and effective online music lessons can be, whether you're learning guitar, piano, ukulele, voice, or another instrument.

Online sessions are often more affordable than in-person lessons and give you access to a wider range of tutors from across Sydney.

In addition to flexibility and cost savings, online lessons offer unique benefits:

  • Tutors can share screens, record snippets, and use interactive tools on Zoom or Skype

  • You’ll receive personalised resources, including sheet music, video clips, play-along tracks, and other digital learning materials

  • Lessons can be recorded for revision and practice between sessions

Getting Ready for Your First Online Lesson

Before your first online music lesson, make sure your setup allows for clear communication and visibility. Good lighting is essential, and it’s important that both you and your tutor can hear each other clearly.

If you’re taking piano lessons, your tutor will need to see both your hands and your face — so position your camera accordingly.

We strongly recommend using a laptop or tablet (rather than a phone) and running a quick audio and video test before your lesson, especially if it’s your first time using Zoom or Skype.
