Lochie Earl
Lochie is a passionate drummer, teacher, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter with over 17 years of professional experience in performance and recording. Since winning the Billy Hyde International Drum Play Offs at the age of 13, he has gone on to perform and record with more than 30 bands across Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Europe. He has released three albums of his own music and contributed to countless other recordings and projects across a wide range of genres.
Alongside his performance career, Lochie has developed a strong reputation as an innovative and engaging music educator. Over the past 12 years, he has refined a creative and well-rounded teaching approach designed to help students of all ages and skill levels achieve their musical goals. His lessons focus on building strong fundamentals while keeping learning fun, practical, and inspiring.
Lochie has also developed unique educational projects, including Beat Missions, a drumming video game designed to enhance learning through interactive play, and Heirs to the Tone, a live performance experience where students perform alongside professional musicians in a real-world setting. These initiatives reflect his commitment to making music education immersive and performance-driven.
Whether students are learning drums for the first time, aiming to play their favourite songs, or developing the skills needed for live performance and recording, Lochie focuses on helping them build confidence, creativity, and a lifelong connection to music.
